Let's talk powder room location

Posted on: July 5, 2019

As I mentioned in my 1st floor plan video - when it comes to powder rooms the most important thing is the location - powder rooms should always be tucked away from rooms where we normally entertain so that our guests can have some privacy. ⁣

I also feel that when it comes to design and details - it’s one of the most important rooms in a house. Powder rooms are usually small so it’s easier to splurge on higher quality finishes - there’s only one faucet, no shower or tub, one sink, and it often requires only 1 or 2 rolls of wallpaper. So if you’re going to go all out in one room in your home - it should be your powder room!

The second photo is my current powder room at the townhouse - it’s located under the staircase because my townhouse is tiny, but I can’t wait to do something extra special in my future powder room in the new house. One thing I know for sure - with our floor plan (that took my architect and I almost a year to design) the location of my future powder room could not be more ideal!⁣⁣
